Common Accident Questions

I was in an auto accident, what should I do next?

If you have been involved in an auto accident, time is of the essence. Most importantly, you should seek medical treatment right away. Call 9-1-1 from the scene of the accident. This will begin a legal record of the incident and ensure that emergency medical personnel are dispatched to evaluate your injuries.

Never leave the scene of an accident without exchanging information with any other people involved in the crash. If you are able, obtain information from witnesses and try to take pictures or videos of the crash site. The more evidence you can provide, the stronger your case will be. Let your insurance company and health insurance provider know what has happened.

Finally, contact an attorney as soon as possible. The best way to receive maximum compensation for your case is to retain an experienced attorney. At Bishop & Hayes, P.C., all consultations are free; you pay nothing for a professional valuation of your case.

Contacting us early in the process allows us to handle the insurance companies, assist you in obtaining medical treatment, and fully investigate the accident to prove your damages.
What can you do to help with my insurance claim?
Few people realize that insurance companies are for-profit businesses that make money by paying injury victims less than they deserve. According to research by the Insurance Research Council, 85% of all dollars paid out by insurance companies for personal injury claims were paid to individuals represented by an attorney.

Auto injury victims represented by an personal injury attorney received, on average 3.5 times more in settlement claims amount than those who choose not to hire an attorney.

Insurance companies take advantage of unrepresented individuals who simply do not have the resources to properly value their case. You only have one chance to receive the fair compensation you and your family deserve-- let’s make it count.
What does it cost to work with your firm?
We believe that you should not have to pay to find out whether you have a valid claim. All consultations are free without obligation to retain our services. If you decide to hire us, there is absolutely no out-of-pocket cost. Our no-risk recovery policy ensures that you pay no attorneys’ fees unless we recover compensation on your behalf.

At Bishop & Hayes, cases are taken on a contingency fee basis, meaning that our fees are not paid until damages are recovered in your case. We work tirelessly to maximize damages for our clients so that you receive full and fair compensation for your injuries.
How much is my case worth?
One of the most common (and complicated) questions we get is, “what is the value of my case?” Since every case is unique, determining how much a case is worth cannot be calculated by a formula. Many factors are taken into account, such as the severity of the injuries, a person’s lifestyle and life expectancy, the conduct and culpability of both parties, and more.

Our legal team assertively pursues damages for your medical bills, future medical treatments, lost wages, diminished earning capacity, disabilities, scarring and disfigurement, pain, suffering, lost enjoyment of your life and other economic and noneconomic damages.

We consult with a network of qualified medical experts to prove the cause, nature and extent of such debilitating injuries as:

- Brain and head injuries
- Neck injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Back injuries
- Facial injuries
- Internal injuries
- Whiplash injuries
- Psychological injuries
- Vision loss
- Permanent disabilities

Our goal is to recover the damages you need to improve your health and live the best possible quality of life under your particular circumstances. The best way to get an accurate case valuation is to speak with an experienced auto accident lawyer.

At Bishop & Hayes, auto injury law is all we do. We can help give you a clear idea of what a jury or insurance company will consider and what you should ask for in damages. Contact our office to speak directly with a partner at the firm and find out how much your case may be worth.
Who do I meet with when I hire Bishop & Hayes?
We believe that when you hire Bishop & Hayes, you should be represented by the lawyers whose names are on the door. Although we have a phenomenal professional staff to assist us with your case, our partners do the work, not a paralegal or an associate.

Our partners advise you at your free case evaluation. Our partners prepare all of your documents. Our partners appear at mediation to negotiate the best settlement we can for you. Our partners advocate for your rights in motions and trials. Our partners are responsible for every aspect of your claim, and we are personally invested in the outcome.
